David Szymanski is an artist / photographer. He considers himself a storyteller and tries to capture the essence of his subjects in his portraits. His favorite projects involve documenting hidden gems or showcasing a common occurrence in a new light.
The son of travel-agency owning parents; he was born with a love of travel and adventure. This free spirit has led him to tour Europe shooting metal bands, wading through a river to capture the perfect portrait, and feeling the G-forces when flying in a T-6 plane on assignment -- because, why not?
His work has been published in The Wall Street Journal, VICE, Variety, The New Yorker, GENII, Pitchfork and other publications both nationally and internationally.
He currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin with his wife and children.
